Media Arts Final: Essay

I have done black and white photography, retro, topography, street, and winter photography for the past few months and already, i have learned alot from it. Even though this class is already over, i know that this is only the begginning of my future for photography.
By using adobe photo shop, I have learned new techniques for making a great picture. I used the sponge tool to desaturate pictures and make it become black and white. By using the gradient tool, it helped me made my pictures better. Using the burn tool to darken the image and the light tool to lighten the images. The blur tool and smudge tool was in good use when i was doing my retro pictures. It helped made the faces look real. Adobe photoshop has made me learn new techniques of photography. By those techniques, I will be using them for the future when I want to become a photographer.
For photographers like Weegee and Marilyn Monroe, they develop a style of their own photography so i hope that it will help me develop my own style of my photography too.
I have learned that photography makes up your own kind of style that shows who you are as a person. It doesn’t really matter what you take a picture of because to you, it is art. This is what makes it so unique and interesting about photography. And that’s what I have learned for the past months of taking photography class.

Here is my topography class pictures that i did. The pictures matched what i was saying in the pictures.

This is a picture of my brother. I put his head on a little kid's head by and old TV.
I used adobe photo shop's color contrast ans made my brother's skin a dark brown color.
I then used the blur tool on the edges of the head to make it look more real

Artist Statement

Creative equals art. Without creativity, there is no art. It can come from your mom, your aunt, your friends, and yourself that can help you make your piece of work turn into a masterpiece. About anything can be an art but I think creativity comes from your mind which no one can steal from you.
In my pictures, I try to be creative to make my pictures to look nice and artistic. By doing that, I used a software called adobe photoshop to help with my pictures. Using good contrast and the gradient tool makes a picture come at you. I try to make a good composition for my pictures and I believed I did that. Using a little bit of paint bucket and the gradient tool, I think that my pictures turned out great.
One photographer I really admire is Weegee because he likes to take pictures of what’s really happening in reality instead of photographers who take pictures of nature-like things. He takes pictures of what’s around him and pictures of crime issues happening. It would be pretty awesome if I get to take pictures of crime and stuff but I couldn’t do that since I’m not a reporter so I try to take pictures around me that’s looks very interesting and creative.
One thing I know is that creativity comes from the mind and it is the one thing no one can ever copy in your pictures that makes it look like art.
